“I am fascinated by the huge, hidden potential in us and ways to set it free. My approach is ‘playfool,’ with lightness, humour, empathy, and love — love for myself and others with all their facets.”

    Workshops:

    Self Love
I am my own lover. I touch myself and give myself tenderness, intimacy, lust, love. A journey across your skin with your own hands, fingertips like eyes, exploring an amazing landscape, beautiful, intense, exciting, curious. Gently guided experience into new spaces of lustful self love.

    Shedding Your Skin
The skin as metafor for our past life, tattooed, painted and covered with all our experiences, good and bad ones. In this first gentle then intense ritual we peel off our skin and become pure, soft, innocent like a new born baby, beautiful and sensitive like a mountain on a winter morning covered with fresh white snow. Discovering ourselves lightly we meet the other beautiful beings.

    Workshops

    Dancing Freedom
Dancing freedom is a freeform, authentic movement practice. Integrating elemental waves of music and magic, we give body to our prayers. The process is lightly facilitated, mainly self directed, a recipe for community coherence and human rewilding, welcoming to all.

  • Aaron Johnson is a facilitator, public speaker, and touch activist who works towards identifying and interrupting barriers between people. As co-founder of both Holistic Resistance and Grief to Action, Aaron takes the time to hold the stories of black people around homophobia, transphobia, internalized racism, and those that are Chronically UnderTouched. Because oppression is a part of historical and present American culture, the long term impact of those trauma stories should be acknowledged and held as a map for our collective healing. Aaron Johnson practices and invites various methods of moving through these stories, such as the communal listening ear, sound healing, meditation, and closeness to the earth.

    Workshops:

Building a Nest That Helps Us Get Ahead of the Trauma Story
What change do you believe is possible? What change do you seek?

This workshop is about birthing the diverse change that we seek in New Culture and our broader communities. We use singing, somatic practices and mutual listening to envision what we dream possible. We will notice the Chronically Undertouched material and explore the idea that listening is the first hug. We will start building actionable goals for sustainable diversity. All voices are welcomed. We prioritize and center People of the Global Majority (BIPOC). We will do our best to be trauma and carnage informed. We want and need your hands, voice and spirit to build this nest.

    Song Circle with Holistic Resistance
Everyone is welcome!! This workshop is an anti-racist, black-led space to reclaim our community and our voices as singers. The song circle is partly comprised of improv singing, learning traditional African heritage songs, beatboxing, and sounding with our voices. We will be noticing where we can bring music back into our homes and community. All singers have a choice when it feels good to sing, and can also just observe.

As a facilitator, Gary leads town forums on topical and often contentious community issues, both locally and internationally. He also works with business, government, spiritual, and non-profit groups, guiding organizational development and conflict resolution.

    Workshop:

    Group Process Work

In our Workshop we will focus on group process from a Process oriented Psychology approach. We will start by sensing what issues are present in the atmosphere and then go deeply into unfolding and facilitating those issues.

The issues that arise are both local, that is immediate to this camp, and non-local, meaning the larger world field is always present in a group and wanting to be processed. We move into and through these issues with a combination of intensity and depth, and our intent is to do this in a trauma informed way.

    Workshops:

    Ecstatic Connection Dance
Ecstatic Dance is movement meditation — an opportunity to drop out of the thinking-judging mind and deep into the feeling body. The theme of this session is connection — with self, with others, and with the whole community. The music for this connection experience will be infused with rhythms from around the globe, with lots of joyful and playful moments. Opening with flowing warm-up music, steadily increasing tempo and intensity to reach peaks of ecstasy, and gently landing into meditative stillness.

Dancing the Realm of the Sultry, Sensual and Sexy
This dance journey is an invitation to explore pleasurable feelings that arise within and between. The music will be slinky, steamy, soulful, bluesy, seductive, passionate, flirtatious, suggestive, and tender. It's a chance to play with sensuality in dance and music, to luxuriate in your inner yumminess, and to make new community connections. And while you may be most excited to explore affectionate contact in duets or groups, there's no obligation or expectation that you will dance with other people — you do you!
